Is there a utility to archive games?

If, say, they've finished (and thus aren't getting posted to any more) but you don't want them to be deleted (because they aren't getting posted to any more).

Does rpol have a feature to save them to disc without doing so manually?

Edit the Thread (the link is  in the top menu when you open the thread) and then choose the D/L option.  Close but no cigar!

The D/L option is  in the top menu when you open the thread

You would have to download each individual thread in your game.  I am not 100% certain how it works yet, but there is an archive option in the Edit Thread menu.

I get the sense you want to download something like a zip archive of an entire game?  Is that right?

That's correct, yes!

Although I didn't know about the D/L option, that simplifies things in those threads that are too long for view entire thread -> save page using browser to be an option.

In reply to Geese (msg # 4):

It should be possible to download the relevant threads into a folder reserved for that purpose, then zip up that folder.

It should even be possible to make this happen by a simple batch file or script that could be tied to a shortcut on your desktop.

You would still have to download all the threads individually, but then zipping them up could be accomplished in a single step.

Re: Is there a utility to archive games?

Been trying to do this as a player. A game I'm in is marked for deletion and I'd love to save it, but I can't seem to find any options.

In reply to Chappu (msg # 6):

In this case you'd be better off saving what you have access to as HTML pages.  Depending on your browser, there may also be a command to save complete pages in PDF documents.  (I have this feature in Flashpeak Slimjet for Linux)

Firefox and IE/Edge/whatever they're calling it this week both can save HTML pages.

Play around with it.  You may find this is a good alternative for you.

I got that as a browser extension way back when (the PDF thing I mean) but it doesn't work for Adult Access games, and since I only run those and discussion groups I didn't think it was worth a try on the others.

I laughed when I got my xBone S and saw the internet explorer icon with "Microsoft Edge"

I was able to pull an HTML save of a page in one of my Adult games.  Did you mean that it wouldn't work as a player?

Oh sorry, I was talking about the PDF maker specifically. I could not do PDF making at all with an adult game.

I'll have to try this when I get home.  I'm pretty sure that Slimjet will print to PDF anything I can view.
