That would be because RPoL does not allow it.

As with music files, you can post a link, then the person reading the message can decide if they want to listen or watch at that time.  For many users, who access RPoL from work, school, or libraries, embedded videos and music might not be a welcome addition to the site.

Regardless of autoplay or not, the best you can do is provide a link.  Some of us are on fairly limited data plans, and the text-only nature of most games is a welcome feature in that situation.  If you can make a convincing argument for the need to embed video, it might make it into site code at some point...but considering the thousands of games that have run perfectly well without it, that better be an incredibly compelling pitch.  *grin*

If you can handle facebook, your data plan can handle embedded videos. It's just nice.

ribble, instead of trying to start an argument, you need to understand that not everyone has unlimited Data plans. Some people have to limit their activities.

And some of us, even with unlimited data plans, don't want to be subjected to the annoyance of embedded anythings.  I love using pics imbedded in posts, but can't stand it when people don't resize them to fit appropriately in the forum, or they aren't appropriate to the rest of the forum content.  I would hate people posting videos (where they may or may not be hotlinking to sources they don't have the right to steal bandwidth from -- nothing like thinking you're going to view a safe-for-work video only to have retaliatory porn posted in its place by the site owner) because there's a snippet in the middle of a YouTube video they want me to see.  They could just as easily post the link to the exact time and be done with it.
