How do you replace the background with an image. I try to put an image address in the bar, but am I overlooking something else?

I keep getting "The external image URL can only include basic characters (alphanumeric, space, colon, backslash, minus sign, underscore). Cannot continue, error(s) in the selected values." Can you use imgur addresses?

OMG!  I did not know we could change the rpol background!  I just tried and I have a pic of one of my puppies showing now. I pulled the pic from my photobucket account.

Did you set the other background image drop down to "no image"? Make sure the image name is simple and follows the stated rules and remember: hotlinking is bad, m'kay?

I believe RPGuru92 is referring to the "User Preferences" settings that allow you to set your own custom background image.
components that you need:

BeginningURLInternet ExtURL2file type
http://site url.com/site url.png

Admins - I apologize if this needs to be removed, I am providing this only to illustrate a link:

So I presume you cannot use imgur? If so, any suggestions on what pic site to use?

I recommend Photobucket. It's the one I use, and I've never had any trouble with it. The best part is that it's Paris and even I haven't run up against a space limit yet.

I have weird vision problems and did a custom style sheet for rpol that looks really nice to my poor eyes. Then I added a background image and it freakin' rocked! But then... I loaded it on my stpuid smatrphone and it wouldn't render. This was a long time back, maybe a year or so ago. But the fact that a background image can be used is awesome. Is there any way to set it for a game you run? That. would. be. cool!

I would love to experiment with a style sheet. But I would probably go quite mad. All I really need is a way to get this blasted font a bit larger. Also, photobucket has a size limit of 800x600 so it becomes repetitive death.

I have never hit photobucket's size limit, and I put some pretty big pics on it, so that's news to me.  :(

i mean size as in size of the screen. Perhaps I should try again?

- photobucket saves it too small.

You should be able to fiddle with it, maybe put a border around it to fill it out or something?  I haven't played with it yet.

In reply to RPGuru92 (msg # 8):

RPGuru, are you saying that you need the text on Rpol to be bigger? I accidentally stumbled across that a few days ago. I thought I'd broke something and queried it in this forum.

Your browser can alter the size of the text. Depending on your browser, at the top of your screen you should have something like 'File, Edit, View, etc. Go to View -> Zoom, or alternatively try CTRL and + (or CTRL and -).

Firefox has a 'zoom text only' which wraps the enlarged text on your screen so you don't have to scroll horizontally to read posts.

Hope that helps.

I didn't know you could use a background image either.

Oh I know how to increase the font on websites, but just wanted to see if I can do it on this site.
