Trouble with linking

Hi, in our game I made some sample character sheets where the name of the character was linked to a deviant art page using proper coding like this: <a href="hyperlink">Name here</a>

Now in another thread of the same game a player does exactly the same thing and it does not work. All the coding looks to be in order. I don't get it.

Re: Trouble with linking

I believe that players cannot use reference links; only the GM can.

Re: Trouble with linking

Only GMs can post hyperlinks in a game.  Players do not have the ability to do so.

Re: Trouble with linking

It is worth noting that they should be able to put a http address... they player just can't control the 'title/visible' link name... instead will be the url.

Someone could also test it, but for some reason, I thought I discovered that characters with NPC in their Tag could use custom links... if that matters to people. (in addition to GMs of course)  Might need to test that thought.

You could have them post... and then edit the post, changing the name of the poster, so it is as you posted it.

Also, I believe players can add images and potentially links in their descriptions.  It isn't a regular post... but is a place they can put links and images.

In reply to LoreGuard (msg # 6):

I tested that to see if, as a GM, I could write a post using the Other Name box and typing in a PC name so I could make the link pretty: It doesn't work.  The system recognizes the PC name and gives it the official one with avatar and bio line and everything, instead of the generic one.

But yes, players can add links and pics and such to their posts, they just can't disguise the links with different names.
