Not sure how this happened.

I double checked to make sure both characters had the same player attached to them, I checked to make sure both character sheets were open for editing (although this isn't really the problem, he says he simply can't see the second sheet) any thoughts, suggests, ideas?

Have him/her check to see if the page scrolls to the right.  Sometimes the window is narrower than the page and the drop down menu, which is on the right side, isn't visible without scrolling over.

This is taking the first, most obvious problem first, but I've made those kinds of mistakes before...

Has your player selected the other character in the box when looking at character information?  Every game I'm in where I have multiple characters (and, I would assume, every game that has multiple characters, period) has a little box on that page that says 'View Profile of' and then a dropdown list of all the characters I play in the game.  If I don't select a different character from that list, I only ever see my original, default character.

If he doesn't realize that he needs to make that selection, and thinks that all the characters' info is available on the same page, that could be the problem.  I realize, like I said, it's the most obvious solution and all...but when I started here, I couldn't figure out how to reply to posts because I hadn't figured out the color scheme thing and the 'reply' option was in a color that I had trouble seeing against the default background.  Once a friend pointed it out to me, I felt kinda stupid...but being completely new to using forums at the time, I honestly had no idea.  Sometimes those obvious answers aren't obvious if you don't realize they're there.

Thanks for the suggestion Facemaker, but Dara had the solution, the little selection box you are talking about was not on the visible screen.

I had it happen to me while on my iPad.  ^_^

That makes sense, smaller screen and all. I don't know what the player is using, but I tend to magnify my screen so my poor old eyes don't have to strain, so I don't see everything all the time either.
