Re: NPC

Gm menu ==> Edit characters ==> Add (existing) ==> Select your username ==> type in the information as usual and then under "Tag" type in "NPC". You don't have to call it an NPC if you don't want to, but that seems to be what you're looking for.

Hope that helps.

Re: NPC

Also keep in mind that as the GM of a game you can make a post under any name you want. This can be used to make ad hoc NPC's, though they don't have the character sheet, description, bio, portrait etc.

Re: NPC

Yes, I was having that problem. I had a couple of long time players drop out and I wanted to make their PC's into NPC's, but I couldn't seem to figure it out. After much scouring of the forums, I pieced it together. I think there ought to be a specific help item added to the Help section on exactly how to do this for new GMs. I'm sure the info is already there somewhere, but just not layed out exactly. Now that I got it figured out, it seems very simple, but the tricky part was the tag "NPC" is what is needed to get it to show up at the bottom of the Cast list...

Re: NPC

It can be more than NPC, it just needs to include NPC.

So you can say NPC Bard, NPC Pilot, NPC Noble for instance and they will show up down at the bottom.

Re: NPC

Hello,

I have another question about NPC's. Actually is something odd that is happening in my game.

I created another NPC (we are near the end of the game). Sam (NPC's name) appears in "The Cast" list as NPC.

In GM Menu - Character Management as NPC. As well in Edit Character Tags

But in Character Details - View Profile of Sam is listed as Character, not NPC.

It's not a problem., but it's odd that in this list he appears as Character and not NPC...

If someone has an idea why this is happening and if there is a way to fix it, I'd appreciate.

As I said, it's not a problem, but if I can put Sam as NPC I'll be happier. :-)

Edit: Update

I had to create another NPC for another game. And funny story, in this other game, my other NPCs appear as Character in the Character Details - View Profile of list, and Sam appears as NPC.

I really don't understand...

Re: NPC

In reply to Miss Scarlet (msg # 7):

I believe that if you change the Tag of an NPC from NPC to "whatever," then they show up an a PC on the cast list. That way they show as another player in the game and not just a GM character.

Re: NPC

I really don't know what caused the problem, in some features a character was a NPC and others was not. When I created the NPC, I created it using "Edit Characters" - Create a new character for an existing user.

What I know is if anyone has the same problem, go to Character Tag (at GM Menu) and click in "Update Tags" (even if you didn't change anything), that it might solve the problem, at least if solved for me.
