rmail issues

[ --- You have new rMail waiting! --- ]

So I have gotten the above a few times, at first I did not understand why it showed new rmail but when I went to the thread there was nothing new.

At one point I clicked 'Mark all as Read' and the new rmail cleared up. BUT NOW ITS BACK???

I have placed requests in 'Wanted - Players' and 'Wanted - GMs' which I believe the new rmail maybe from RPoL members trying to reach out and discuss the game by rmail.

I believe I'm not getting my rmails but I am getting the prompt that I have rmail with nothing in my box.

Hope the above made sense, ..... please help

In reply to Lord Caladin (msg # 1):

Have you deleted any rmails without reading them?  That sometimes causes the reminder to pop back up until you receive a new rmail and read it.

In reply to Shannara (msg # 2):

No, I have read all my rmails when received.

And I delete rmail when the conversation (topic) is done.

Re: rmail issues

Sent you a test rmail - please reply when / if you receive, then check the rmail reminder.

Re: rmail issues

If I recall correctly, this is sometimes indicative of a corrupted cookie...but I'm not expert enough on the point to be able to tell you for sure how to check or how to fix it if it is.  It just sounds like a lot of other situations I've read on here where the solution was to do something about the cookies...usually logging out and logging back in, or cleaning out all of the old cookies from RPOL and restarting your browser or computer, I think.

But, like I said, I'm going on the basis of an unclear memory of a subject I don't really understand too well...

Re: rmail issues

The usual fix is to wait for another rMail (like the one sent by Shannara above), then read it it.  That generally sorts out the cookie.

Edit: As long as you don't delete it without reading it first.
