Windows 7 & GM posting

So, for some reason, Windows 7 wants to auto-fill my user name on the GM posts I do. You know, the part where you can fill in a throw-away NPC's name?  I know it's 100% not rpols fault. Anybody know how I can slap Windows 7 into stopping that?

Re: Windows 7 & GM posting

Probably your browser, not Windows 7 ...

In Firefox, the following link has instructions for setup changes to stop it.

https://support.mozilla.org/en...ill&r=0&as=s

I just searched on Firefox Help for "autofill" - you should be able to do the same for your browser of choice.

Hope this helps. :>

Re: Windows 7 & GM posting

While I'm using a Mac not a PC, I use Firefox's Auto Form Fill, and it is only supposed to fill things in once you type the first few letters -- very handy for typing in the names of NPCs I use regularly but not often enough to make a full-fledged cast entry for -- but it doesn't just populate a form box upon entering a page.  I'm not sure what's going on, but I don't think that's the one causing the problem.

I agree that it's probably the browser, but I'm thinking it's more along the lines of the browser thinking it's a saved password.  You could check in your saved passwords to see if there's anything except RPOL's main page in the list.

I'm no expert on computers, tho, so I could be way off target.  :p

Re: Windows 7 & GM posting

I've been using Windows 7 almost since it came out, and have no idea what you mean.

I would also look at your browser settings, and any programs that are supposed to remember passwords or auto-fill for you.
