Strange thing just happened and I can't seem to understand why?

On the main page, my post count is blue showing I have a message.

When I access the game it show in red Private Messages.

BUT when I go in and look I can't see any messages with the New Messages icon. they show all as read.

Any ideas why?

if you are the GM and you have lots of PMs then it may be a PM between players and located lower on the list below the GM personal PMs

just a possibility there.

If you are going from computer to computer without logging out first, that can happen.  It can also be a cache issue.  The easiest way to deal with it is to just click the "mark all as read" link... after making absolutely certain there isn't a message you missed someone on the page.  :p

I just logged completely out, and logged in now I see 3 new messages, maybe there was a lag or something.

I did refresh and I did open threads to see if it would fresh on its own.

I basically completely logged on and in and now I see 3 new messages.

BUT shouldn't it have updated with refresh?

OK a little update, the post were mine, .... that I posted sometime earlier.

I have this issue with my phone and iPad but never with my PC.

Having almost no techno-expertise of my own, I can only give you one explanation:  Gremlins.

But seriously, the not logging out before going to s different computer (or after a browser crash, or a myriad of different little annoyances) can cause that problem.  I don't know why, I only know how to fix it.  Hope it helps.

i actually have no problem switching between my phone, my work computer, and my two home computers with messages.

but thats just me, i know for other people logging in and out is necessary

It's random, which is why I blame gremlins.  I go between laptop and iphone all the time, and usually don't have to do the log out thing.  The only problem I usually run into is that threads I read on my laptop will still be marked in the game as unread, but the number won't be red on my games list.  *shrug*

I'm sure there's a super cool technical explanation, but either marking everything as read or relogging will take care of it.
