Having an unusual Issue

I just started experiencing this issue for about 10 minutes, but it keeps happening.

I open up a browser, type in rpol.net and I get a redirection notice. - /cgi-bin/redirect.ha

Hit the main logo, same place. I can pull up the games I am by going through my browser history. To go to my main menu, I need to relog. I am using Internet Explorer, and Chrome is not having this issue, but does anyone know why?

Re: Having an unusual Issue

IE may be supplying a full URL that isn't recognized by RPoL while Chrome is supplying just the rpol.net URL?

Re: Having an unusual Issue

That's an alternate RPOL address (site?). I use it because it's almost never blocked on public networks while the regular RPOL.net sometimes is.

Don't know why you would be redirected to it if you aren't going to it directly, tho.

Re: Having an unusual Issue

That seems really suspicious to me, I'd suggest you do a malware scan.  We've never had an address like that.

Re: Having an unusual Issue

Your first problem is that you were using IE. If it isn't a malware issue, then it is probably an issue with IE.

Re: Having an unusual Issue

Actually, it looks like it has nothing to do with IE, and people using Chrome and Firefox are having the same issue.

Seems like it might be a problem with AT&T: https://uk.answers.yahoo.com/q...0131028144057AA7ZWrg

Re: Having an unusual Issue

I have Charter cable internet.  A while ago, Charter's DNS table was messed up and I wasn't able to get to any internet address.  I put in Google's public DNS, "Configure your network settings to use the IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as your DNS servers" and I was able to navigate to the pages I wanted just fine.  I've never gone back and taken Google's addresses out.  It's possible that AT&T's DNS table has been partially corrupted in some way.

Re: Having an unusual Issue

Thanks BBR, I recall that now.  I think it's part of their transparent proxying, which alternate browsers (as much as people like suggesting an alternative) and DNS services will unfortunately not resolve.  One user reported that typing in "http://rpol.net" instead of just "rpol.net" assisted with the issue.
