As members in good standing of the military you have access to basic military weapons and armor.

The basic Tags and gear you can use:
Campaign Tags:
Headquarters
Heroic
Powerful (Military Resources)
Public Identity
Team: Omega Squad
Obligation: The military

Potential Campaign Tags:
Authority (if you're the squad leader)
Backup
Black Market Access (Mil Spec gear, with authorization)
Lab Access (With Authorization)

May use Team maneuvers

Standard outfitting:
Pistol
Submachine gun (Carbine)
Knife (Combat grade)
Frag grenade x2
Flash Bang grenade x2

If you want body armor, you must set aside a power slot for it. It's a flak jacket that gives "Sturdy 1 (High Tech Reliance)" Again, this a Role Playing choice: the innate power is probably wiser from a mech standpoint. Of course, it might also be a temporary power choice. If Flexible Bones are in your future (for instance), this can give you a head start.

Who's Who in the Military...at Area 51

Just to confuse the issue inj a typical military manner....

You lot are regular Army attached to the Air Force. Area 51 is an Air Force base, after all.

Recently (since the invasion) members of the new branch, the Space Force, have moved in and taken command of aspects of Area 51. Not particularly strange as they ARE a subdivision of the Department of the Air Force. Much like the Marines are Department of the Navy.

It should be noted that the remit of Space Force includes responding to attacks and issues from Space.

Impact Site 51-A is manned by Army, mostly Special Forces and Snipers, but it, too, seems to be run by Space Force. While the soldiers aren't form Groom Lake or the Air base at Area 51, the Space Force contingent probably is.
