The Tip of the Bat'leth

Yomash quickly and silently dispatched the Jem'Hadar before he could raise an alarm.

Outside the door from which the soldier had come, Yomash discovered a stairwell. Careful to avoid being spotted, he followed the stairwell which led upward to a shuttle hangar bay. Throughout the bay he could see three patrolling Jem'Hadar guards. Across the hangar, Yomash spotted a turbo lift. Along the wall to his left was a hallway. To his right, he could see the forcefield he and his team had seen from outside.

How will you proceed?

Warrior's Clarity: There are one dozen well-trained Jem'Hadar in the outpost. Yomash also knows that an outpost of this size typically also has a Vorta overseer to manage operations and the Jem'Hadar compliment.

Yomash calculated the patrols timing....  Then began to move down towards the nearby hallway.  He needed a control station....

Two Successes.  Heading for hallway.

The Tip of the Bat'leth

Yomash slipped past the patrolling guards and down the hallway. The hall lead to a barracks/training room, where two Jem'Hadar sparred with one another. Along one of the walls was a control panel, but accessing it would likely lead to Yomash being spotted.

Do you risk it to access the control panel or do you double back and try to find another?

The Tip of the Bat'leth

Yomash eyed the scene and made a quick decision.  Two unarmed Jem'hadar were better odds than the three in the hangar.  He gave them no time to notice him and rushed in.

He took the one nearest the control panel first, ready to cut the other off from it as the battle was joined.  He hopes to bring one down quickly in the initial assault, to even the odds.  Mek'leth and dak'tahg for this work.

It was a personal preference.

Two again.  And another Warrior's Clarity.

I went with two dice.  He's prepared (ambushing again) and expert, but there were two of them.  So, two dice seemed right?

The Tip of the Bat'leth

Yomash rushed the pair of Jem'Hadar, weapons raised, and attacked. To their credit, they responded immediately. The struggle, though over quickly, was a desperate one, and only through his years of training and Warrior spirit did Yomash manage to best the first of the soldiers. During the seconds it took him to best his opponent, the second armed himself with the Kar'takin favored by the Jem'Hadar. He rushed Yomash intent on the kill.

Their security is weakest on the current level, now that you have eliminated two of the garrison. The compliment of troopers was spkit equally between the upper and lower levels.

You have eliminated the threat of being outnumbered, but now the other guard is armed as well.

Yomash eyed the now armed Jem'hadar, nodding approvingly with a grin.  His own weapons raised at the ready as he began to circle, trying to keep himself between his enemy and the control panel, "qa' wIje'meH maSuv.We fight to enrich the spirit A duel then...  He swept in.

The Tip of the Bat'leth

Both warriors struck with lightning fast blows testing the skill, strength, and mettle of their opponent. Strike. Cut. Parry. Riposte. Slash. Parry. Block. Kick. Lunge. Parry. Strike. An arterial flow.

Yomash's foe collapsed, dead before he hit the ground. A worthy foe. An honorable death.

But the sound of fast falling boots filled the corridor. The noise from the struggle had alerted the other guards. Three armed and alert Jem'Hadar soldiers were coming.

What will you do?

Yomash went quickly for the control panel.  He needed to open the hangar and cut his enemies communications.  He would clear the way for the mission first.

Deal with the approaching Jem'hadar after.

HA!  Perfect time for no successes!

The Tip of the Bat'leth

A klaxon blares overhead, signaling the security breach and putting the base on high alert.

Weapon discharges were the only sign that a Shrouded Jem'Hadar had entered the room. Yomash was forced to take cover or die where he stood.

What does he do?

The element of surprise has been lost, putting the mission in danger of failure. But Yomash is a Klingon Warrior and the day is not yet lost!

The Tip of the Bat'leth

Yomash cracked his fist into the now useless control panel as energy blasts burned near him.  He turned, tracking them back to the shrouded Jem'Hadar.  There were more coming....  Not much cover...

Yomash zig-zagged his way close to the first.  Bringing the enemy in reach if the mek'leth and, hopefully, using the Jem'Hadar as cover from his brothers...

One success!

The Tip of the Bat'leth

The Jem'Hadar's shrouding ability failed as Yomash ran him through with his mek'leth and grabbed him around the throat using him to shield himself from the incoming fire. The remaining Jem'Hadar continued to fire. They were fanatics and considered their comrade, and themselves, already dead. They kept their  distance from Yomash, preserving their advantage and knowing that the lone Klingon had nowhere to go.

Yomash is cornered. What does he do?

The Tip of the Bat'leth

Yomash, corned, fights on.  He hopes that his otherwise unsuccessful infiltration had reduced the enemies numbers and distracted them enough for the rest of the team...  It had been a good day to die after all.

He shoved the dead Jem'hadar at one attacker and charged the other!

No successes!  So....  That feels accurate to the situation!  Where was my last save spot....

The Tip of the Bat'leth

As Yomash charged the Jem'Hadar he was facing down, he nearly lost his footing from the concussion of an explosion originating in the corridor. Thankfully, the Jem'Hadar struggled to stay upright as well. The fraction of a second it needed for recovery was all that kept Yomash from being gunned down. But it was enough. He collided with his foe.

Will Yomash best his opponent?

Uh-oh, some consequences from getting no successes. Something went kaboom.

Yomash stumbled a moment with the explosion, but it luckily pushed him towards the distracted for.  He crashed into the warrior, forcing him back.  Yo.ash pressed in.  The mek'leth rose in an upward slash through gun or arm, it didn't matter.  Once the way was clear, his dak'tahg drove in....

He'd worry about the explosions after the enemies before him were defeated.

The Tip of the Bat'leth

Yomash dispatched his foe and carried forward toward the sounds of battle. What he found was two members of his strike team, Doranesh and Lural, finishing off the last of the Jem'Hadar in the corridor. Smoke filled the corridor from the direction of the shuttle bay as did the sounds of fighting. Yomash had to step over bodies to rejoin his team. One, he noted, had been Krovek--a warrior's death.

"You yet live," Doranesh said with disappointment when she saw Yomash. "Have you destroyed the transmitter?"

Yomash considered Krovek for a moment.  There was a certain jealous feeling at such a death that refused to come for him.  To Doranesh, Yomash answered, "Not yet.  Come!" He had no time for her pettiness.  His blades were cleaned quickly, sheathed, and Krovek's disruptor was taken up as Yomash lead the way to the shuttle bay

The Tip of the Bat'leth

A hole, still wreathed in flame, had been blown into the side of the shuttle bay and the forcefield was down, allowing the frigid air beyond to fan the plasma fire. Thankfully,  most of the smoke and flame was being pulled outside.

Yomash saw Hur'kel and Talij holding their position against three Jem'Hadar who had emerged from the turbo lift.

Hearing the sounds of alarm, his strike team had abandoned surprise and launched an assault. Speed was their only advantage now. They had to disable the transmitter to allow the Invasion force to launch their thrust before the Dominion could respond.

Yomash's team hemmed the Jem'Hadar in, preventing a breakout. They poured on a deluge of disruptor fire. Seeing that they were outnumbered, one of the Jem'Hadar turned toward the turbolift to disable it so that the attackers could not use it.

Is Yomash able to stop him in time?

The Tip of the Bat'leth

Yomash and his team eliminated the Jem'Hadar before they could sabotage the turbolift.  By his count there would likely be three more Jem'Hadar in the facility, plus an overseer.

Even with the facility on high alert, the plan could still succeed. If they moved quickly enough, they could disable the transmitter which would allow some of their ships to slip through the hole in the Tachyon Detection grid before the Dominion could compensate. They would not achieve total surprise, but they would have an advantage.

What is Yomash's plan to secure the upper level?

OOC: Three Jem'Hadar remain. Approximately fifteen minutes to complete your mission before the window closes.

Yomash turned to Lural and pointed to the remaining shuttle, "Get that shuttle ready.  Fly out and do all the damage you can.  If we survive, you may pick us up and carry us all home to glory.  This is your chance for honor."

To the rest, Yomash directed towards the turbolift, "For the rest of us, we go to the heart of the enemy to tear it out with our teeth if need be.". He turned to lead them quickly towards the turbolift, "Talij, grenades!"

Turbolift assault, grenades ready when the doors open.  Breaching action.  Lural and the shuttle is the escape and failsafe.  She can use the shuttle weapons or shuttle itself as a last ditch attack should the assault not succeed.

The Tip of the Bat'leth

Yomash's team rode the Turbolift up to the second level. They took what scant cover was available. They deployed their grenades as soon as the lift was open, but...they found no resistance. The top level of the facility was as big as the lower level, but was given over largely to the systems necessary to the outposts duty of monitoring the Tylanis Sector and the Beta Quadrant at large. These systems were, unfortunately, protected by a heavy duty forcefield.

There were other rooms that were outside of the forcefield, but these seemed to have been locked down by the security alert. It might be possible to bypass the security lockout to access them.

It is still possible to accomplish your mission and allow the Invasion force to enter the Tylannis system undetected, but the denizens of this base definitely know that you are here.

Yomash snarled at the sight of the fields and sealed doorways.  To Talij, he barked while pointing at the field, "BRING IT DOWN!" He did not care how the engineer did it.  But do it they would.. For the rest, "Watch for cloaked warriors and bypass these door seals.  Find us a way to the enemy!". Yomash picked a door and tire at the control panel.

Time was running out for so many things.

Talij turned her attention to the forcefield, while the others tried the other doors.

Yomash breached his own door and within the room he found a beaten and bloodied Klingon officer. The officer's hands are bound and it is clear that he has been treated unkindly. Yomash does not recognize the warrior's face, but his uniform clearly marks his rank as a General.

How does he help his superior?
