How This Works:

The intent of this "game" is for people to ask questions about running games, and get input from others. Others can expand, discuss, and even refute.
Some may have advice to share without being asked.
Advice may or may not be specific to certain gaming systems.
Though this game is focused on running a game as a GM, if there's questions or advice for players, go ahead.

Quick Questions and Advice: If you've got a quick question or bit of advice, throw it here.
If I think something warrants larger discussion, I'll make a dedicated thread for it. If you think something warrants such, feel free to let me know (either in the thread or PM).

If you have a question or advice that you're pretty sure warrants its own thread, you can skip the Quick thread and just PM me.
It’s possible a specific thread might start to branch or go in another direction. If needed, a new thread can be made.

General Chat: Just general talking, saying hi, and so on. I'll make any announcements here. Not the intended place for questions and advice.

Etiquette:

Be aware this game is open to the public. People can see inside even if they’re not in the game. You might also be running into people you don’t recognize.
Don’t badmouth people by name (or character name). Try to keep it vague or general.
Try to keep things PG.

There could be some disagreement about advice or how to do things, which is fine and great. Try not to be an elitist snob though.

Try to post with purpose. Responding with stuff like “Oh jeez, that’s a tough situation” doesn’t really help.

I don’t want to be a super stickler about rules, or organization and function of the game, but hopefully you get what I’m going for.

Request to Join (RTJ):

If you wish to join the game, just send me a “Request Access” PM saying you wish to join.
By default, I will enter you as your site username. If you wish to use a different name, please say such and tell me the name you wish to use. Make sure it is not a name used by someone else on the site.
If a week passes without me adding you, feel free to ping me.

Once you’re in, it is preferred, but not required, that you select a portrait. (I think it makes it easier to recognize who’s talking, put a face to people, so to speak.)
Similarly, you can add to your character description what your experience is, etc.

There are no activity requirements, you can just lurk if you wish.
If you wish to be removed from the game for whatever reason, just PM me saying such. You'd be welcome back later.

Some of the threads here were copied from that game. (The game was not marked sole ownership, and essentially died years ago when he disappeared.)
