An overdue apology letter.

An overdue apology letter.

It’s been a long time.  I won’t go into details, things happened, I ran into some problems, and I could no longer focus on games.

For a while I figured, okay, I will get over this, and everything will go back to how it was.  Now it’s clear that’s not going to happen.  Too much changed for me, and I just can’t write anymore.  I can’t keep the stories in my head anymore, they don’t seem to come alive like they used to.  I think that part of me is gone.  That’s unfortunate because I really enjoyed it.

I am going to try to make a comeback, and make one last effort to keep a game or two going.

Unfortunately, this one isn’t it.  While I do like this game and genre, it’s just something I am unable to do.  I am sorry, I will miss this game.

Maybe this will all pass for me and things will go back to normal, but for now, I have to let this go.

An overdue apology letter.

First, thanks for posting this. I know it can’t have been easy so big respect for doing so.

Secondly, this is just a game so don’t worry about it. The purpose of a game is to have fun, so if it isn’t fun for whatever reason then don’t do it, even if potentially you may let other people down (and trust me, it happens so much on rpol that players just get over it and move on without losing any sleep).

If you are coming back to rpol then maybe consider just being a player for a while. Much less responsibility and less stress, and if you do need to bail for any reason the GM can NPC you for a while, give you to another player or just kill you as they see fit (kill the character that is, actually killing you would be a bit harsh!).

Whatever you do, take care of yourself…
