Romance catagory?

I just noticed there isn't a Romance category. Oversight or has no one ever tried doing something in that genre?

Neither. Most games featuring romance prominently also fit nicely into the existing categories. Try "Drama" if there's nothing but romance, but romance is often a major part of Action/Adventure, Intrigue, Horror, Historical, and Comedy games, as well.

Clearly not a fan of dine-store romance novels I take it?

I assume it has to do with the fact that most 'true' romance stories are little more then porn, and RPoL has had a rocky relationship with Adult themes.

N...no? O_o I just mean that most romance stories are dramas, in that there tends to be at least two characters and emotional conflict between them. So they would fit into the Drama category. That's exactly what it says it's for on the tin.

Drama Category:
Drama, relationship, romance; these all describe games that have a focus on plots, twists, the tensions and complexities of day-to-day (or extraordinary) life, and the interaction between characters.

in the games i run, there are time to time,  PCs  who   get involved. it is with in the frame work of the games, and  doesn't take away from the effect of good RP.

There are some  GMs  that feature  'adult' game s that focus , purely on romance and the  aspects of such.

I suppose you're right about that.

Re: Romance catagory?

Drama would be the most appropriate category for something akin to a modern day romance but as has been said romance is often part of EVERY game category.

There are a lot of solo / two player story collection style 'games' out there. If your primary focus is one on one romance try joining one of them.

Also sandbox games give more room for romance than plot based ones.
