Color scheme RPOL

What's with the color scheme changes.  I use the green option but I've got this purple banner at the top, and this ghastly purple border around the toobar at the bottom of the screen  I've tried changing it and it doesn't.

Is this an April Fools prank?

Every year they change the colors. I think it's cool, and just for a day.

Yeah, I think there's a colour change on Christmas day too, if I remember rightly. This one just makes me go "Arrrgh, my eyes!", but I think that's kind of the point ;).

There's on on St Patricks; not sure about Christmas. There are three I think though.

Every year this happens, every year I tell people User Preferences>"Edit (or remove) your custom theme", use the dropdown at the bottom of the page to get the color scheme they want with the "grab them" button, then click "Create!" and you will be blissfully unaware (other than people going on about it for any holiday whose scheme they don't like) of any color scheme changes. Interestingly enough, the dropdown says the only unique ones are on April Fools and Christmas, but I'm sure they just use the regular color schemes for the others.

I mean I know they change it on St. Patrick's day but since the only ones on the list are light and dark fools and xmas respectively, I just figured they used light and dark green respectively on St. Patty's.

Re: Color scheme RPOL

Odd as these are, it is these color changes that made me aware we _could_ change color settings. I had vision issues with bright white with black text so actually benefited from knowing I could change to a green background.

Yep, using a custom theme overrides the holiday ones.

RPOL's dark themes are pretty awesome.  =)

Maybe it's Stockholm Syndrome, but I've gotten used to the April 1st color change.  =)

I thought the April Fool's theme was more terrible than this?  Has it been toned down this year or am I misremembering?

I don't believe it's been changed.  Maybe you're just getting used to it?

My bad -  I had missed that my game threads were ready for a DM response  -  so I had to research THREE GM posts against this background.  That hurt my eyes!

Karma!

Re: Color scheme RPOL

I have been using a custom colour scheme for years solely because of the vile 1 April mod. Until I discovered that I just didn't visit RPoL at all on that day. It made me feel sick.

Am I the only one who noticed the odd accent on the 'r' in 'patŕicks'?

Hmmm... what odd accent?

(Actually, it was a year ago, so I can't remember for certain, but I might have posted that from my phone, which can be a little erratic at times).  :)
