Just wondered if this was an intended feature or not? Really annoying to create a notice and then have to go in, edit and re-open the thread.

Thanks!

I thought notices have always automatically been closed, so as to prevent player responses from clogging up the threads...

This may be my own two cents but I kind of like it when notice threads are automatically closed. I think those types of threads are usually meant for singular post threads like RTJs and it does help ensure everyone will be able to see it without clogging it with posts. While this is my opinion, I don't really mind having to deal with editing the thread to open it if needed. It takes less than a minute.

No probs. I just wondered if it would be ok to include some sort of check box that you could untick to say "Allow others to reply to this notice".

Our OOC threads often have a Notice status :D

I have Notice threads in games I run, such as OOC, and they are always open for posts from players.

In reply to Gaffer (msg # 6):

If you make a normal thread  and then convert it into a Notice, it will remain open.

If you create the thread as a Notice, it will be closed (though it can be reopened using the Edit Thread menu).
