Hex Maps

Is there a way of representing 'unformatted' monospaced ASCII in the RPoL wiki? Specifically I'm using a hex map in a campaign and seeking to include examples in the rules on the wiki

None of the incantations I've tried works on the wiki, though many work on the forums as per the example below.

     A   B   C    D
   ___     ___
  /   \___/   \___
0 \___/   \___/   \
  /   \___/   \___/
1 \___/   \___/   \
  /   \___/   \___/
2 \___/   \___/   \
      \___/   \___/

Incantations include pre, tt, code and the CreoleWiki triple bracket markup

Re: Hex Maps

You might consider formatting the font so it is like the one here.

Re: Hex Maps

If there is an undocumented way of doing that, please share. Nothing of the options available in the text editor permit font-swtiching beyond the tt, pre or code options and I haven't found anything else in the CreoleWiki markup that suggests any route

Re: Hex Maps

What exactly from the above are you trying to do differently?

Re: Hex Maps

It works on the RPoL forums, but not on the wiki

Re: Hex Maps

Hmm.. I tried messing around with it - even no MarkUp format - and that failed.

Yeah, seems SOL on the forums without resorting to complex JQuery.

Re: Hex Maps

Aye. Will probably end up pulling something together with D3 and go the full hog, but in the meantime just refer folk to game (forum posts)

Re: Hex Maps

On the Wiki a double underscore means underline, so ___(spaces)___ becomes _<u>(spaces)</u>_.

Annoying when Wiki steps on what you're trying to do!

To make matters worse the Wiki collapses multiple spaces down to a single space (as per normal HTML), I could probably change that if people thing it'd be a positive change, hopefully it won't break too much.

In reply to jase (msg # 9):

PLEASE MR AWESOME ADMIN! Please!

+1's all around.

When threads themselves become too-muddled with maps that need to change often - it can be frustrating, especially if player-input is preferable for mapping.

Re: Hex Maps

+1 for some means of truly preformatted text in the wiki, even if it's making the no markup section a bit stricter about not translating and collapsing
