Question on private groups/languages

So I've got a game with a few people speaking different lingos, and a few lurkers who are wanting to watch the chaos unfold. I've done what digging I can, but haven't found an answer to my questions;

Is there a way to allow lurkers to see private lines/groups/languages? They see the gobbledigook and a couple of them are, naturally, struggling to follow the conversations.

On a related note, what will happen to the private/secret/language groups when I archive a thread?

(I don't really want to give away the secret plots to the rest of the players, but I don't care if Lurkers see it)

Re: Question on private groups/languages

Yes, go to Groups and assign the Lurkers all Language groups

EDIT: I admit, I assign Lurkers as NPCs

Re: Question on private groups/languages

Far as I can tell, that only covers thread groups, not private/language groups.
And if I go into the private groups there's only the list of players/NPCs, not lurkers.

Re: Question on private groups/languages

Sorry, I edited my above post, you have to make Lurkers NPCs, which is just a form of making them players.

Re: Question on private groups/languages

The private sections can only be seen by the characters that are listed within it.  If they don't have a character (meaning any alias, whether it be GM, normal character, NPC or editor) then they can't be a recipient.

Re: Question on private groups/languages

OK, thanks.

So what happens on an archive? Do private groups get treated as private lines (visible to all)?

Re: Question on private groups/languages

It depends how you address the group.  If it's a private line then it's handled like a private line (unsurprisingly).  If it's addressed to them as a language line then the section remains scrambled for those without the "language" (private group).

Re: Question on private groups/languages

Sweet, I was really hoping the Language groups would stay scrambled.
Thanks Jase, questions answered!
