Image tags

From what I understand when using Image tags the only tags you can use are the alignment tags.  Is there any way we can use sizing tags to be able to shrink/enlarge images in posts?

Thanks

Re: Image tags

It's my understanding that you aren't supposed to put up images that aren't yours, anyway (As in 'don't hotlink to a source image belonging to someone else without their permission, or from sites that aren't yours'), so I would suggest resizing the actual image itself. If it's your image, and on a site that you control (or something like photobucket or whatnot that hosts for you), that shouldn't be an issue. There are plenty of free programs that can handle basic image manipulation like resizing and cropping.

Re: Image tags

That's part of it; the other part is that sizing tags can be used abusively to break the layout of the threads, so they aren't permitted.

We really do suggest that, since you're hosting any images you're in-line displaying on RPoL, you simply adjust them to meet your needs.

Re: Image tags

One drawback of this limitation is that it prevents scaling an image to 50% in the browser, which means that you can't embed images appropriate to super-hi-res displays. (Such as apple's retina displays or various hi-res Windows laptops.)

Re: Image tags

I hadn't thought about abusing the sizing tags to break the thread formats, but it makes complete sense.

And I agree with editing the file size so it fits into my post without size tags.

Thanks for the info.

In reply to Glenn Loos-Austin (msg # 4):

I'd say in that case you were looking at a small-to-diminishing number of RPoL users in that we're not primarily an image side but a play-by-text role playing site.
