Downloading and backing up game material

Hi!

I GMed a game on RPOL for a few years. Sadly, I and the other players entered a hiatus some 2 years ago, but we still cherish very much the thousands of posts we generated during the time we played. Although RPOL has been surprisingly reliable and stable during all that time, we worry that it might be discontinued someday, and we would hate to lose all that material. Therefore, we would like to download all the posts in all the pages of all threads of our game. Is there any way that can be done, other than by saving it page by page, thread by thread?

Thanks!

Re: Downloading and backing up game material

You can only do thread by thread, but if you click all first and then the d/l bottom then you will get the whole thread. At least it cuts down a little bit by not having to do it page by page.

The 'All' option only works if you kept your threads within the 1000-post limit.  If you've gone over that, you WILL lose some posts when you try to archive.

Re: Downloading and backing up game material

RPOL actually encourages us to archive and then delete games that aren't being played any longer.  The site doesn't function as a storage repository of old games, so if there's a game that you and your players want to keep up, I'd suggest something like a shared pdf stored on Google docs or something.
