I was just curious if there was at all any way for someone who once belonged in a game to petition the mods for some ability to view a deleted game? I have lost some character profiles in games which no longer exist and was wondering if there was any way or hope of retrieving them?

Inactive games are removed from the site eventually to free up space.  We do not archive old games, that's something the GM has to do, using their own webspace (archived games can not be permanently stored on RPoL).

So if a game no longer exists on the site, then it is gone, and we can not give anybody the ability to view it.

On the other hand if the game is listed as 'deleted' by the GM but has not been deleted from the site, you can look it up through the search function on the main page or by Managing the Games You Monitor in your user profile to get them back on your sticky list.

It takes a while for a game to be properly deleted by the mods after the GM has marked it for removal.

Players used to be able to view their profiles in deleted games that still appeared in a site search, but that functionality was removed in an update.  I'm not sure why.

I thought this had been changed, but it hasn't.  My bad!

Aldrick, if any of those profiles were in games that I used to have, and they are still under my 'deleted' list and have not been permanently removed, then I would be happy to look for you.
