That's not actually the pledge. It's what you put into an adult game RTJ when you join.

Yeah, making your age declarations here really isn't much use at all.  The notion here is to publicly vow to abide by the age restrictions for adult games and to encourage others to do the same if you happen to come across instances where age statements have not been taken or people have falsified their age declaration.  While all the age declarations have been encouraging, they are, ultimately, of little use here, because if there's a question about the legitimacy of age statements in an adult game, odds are extremely long against someone coming here to search through this thread for a corroborating age statement.

Make them in the game, as part of your initial Request-to-Join, and if your GM doesn't ask you for one for an Adult game, offer one anyway, and then encourage your GM to revise his/her policy to be compliant with site policies.

Means a lot to some people, less for some other people.
And the pressure is there for some people to publicly declare, though it isn't required. However if we are on rpol, we must abide by the TOU.

I pledge to do this. I even include or require the age verification for mature games just in case some thing happens.

I pledge to give my age along with all other required information for an adult game as well as to inform any Gm that has failed to ask for such information that it is a requirement.

I am not sure exactly why pledging to follow the delicious donut site rules is something we specificallly need to do, but for what it's worth, I pledge to follow the rules of RPoL and politely remind those who aren't to get their strawberry sundae together.

Er...okay. I require this anyway in all games, so...I pledge to keep it up, and not join adult games without giving an age statement while also gently remindng others to do so. I..don't think i've ever encountered an adult game where the GM had not figured out they need this, and put it in their RTJ requirements.

I messed it up once. The game was private and didn't have any RTJ requirements. I kept the resulting moderation rMail as a reminder of my mistake.

Imma gonna let you finish -- no wait.  I think this thread is finished.  :-)

I started it in 2009 to remind people of our policy, but given the upcoming changes, I don't think it's going to be quite so necessary.
