I've been setting up a forum game called Helios, which is now ready for players.  I as of this post have one confirmed, and two speculative players, and hope to start with at least three confirmed.  Individual preludes are ready to begin.  In brief it's set in modern times, with elements of sci-fi, horror, and vigilantism.  The rule set is a custom point buy one developed with friends.  Given the horror elements I'd say it's for adults only.

The game opens in 2020 four years after the arrival of technological missionaries called Providers.  Some of the technology they brought with them has been stolen, and then used to change the player characters.  Elements of the story borrow heavily from certain fiction and speculative science.

The system used is called S.P.E.C.I.A.L, and is designed for a broad level of character customisation.  No dice rolls are involved in character creation, and for speed of play pc rolls will be handled by me.  Gameplay will be somewhat railroaded initially, to lay out the framework.

I'm a 35 year old New Zealander with over a decade of GMing experience.  Mostly D&D3.5, Pathfinder, and White Wolf's Mage.  I've some experience of running a forum game, having previously run a two year 3.5ed campaign.

UPDATE July 04: We have a second player active with character, just need one more to get the game running.

UPDATE August 02:  The game is now live, running successfully with three players.  Recruitment is still open.  I'd happily run with as many as six players, to broaden possibilities, and have some insurance in case of drop outs.
  Each of the initial characters have been through a prelude where they were captured and experimented on.  Now together they're in the process of trying to escape, after seeing several fellow prisoners eaten alive by an experimental nanoswarm creature.
