It is year 201 of the Fourth Era. This is the setting of the fifth Elder Scrolls game, Skyrim. The Aldmeris Dominion have hold of much of Tamriel, as the Empire of Cyrodiil comes to its end, bowing to the High Elves of the Summerset Isles. Dragons have returned in Skyrim, and there is too rumour that Alduin, the Great World Eater himself, has too returned. As Tamriel tears herself apart with war, her people pray for the promised Dragonborn to return and save them from the real threat-not their fellow mer or man, but the first of dragons who threatens to devour their entire plain of existence.
