Gehenna by Night - Play-by-Post Vampire The Masquerade Forum

http://w11.zetaboards.com/Gehenna_by_Night/index/

What is Gehenna by Night?
G to the B to the N is a Play by Post roleplaying forum set in the Final Nights of Vampire: The Masquerade. Players assume the role of their own characters who, through their own written interactions as well as those of others who drive the plot as Storytellers, create the ongoing story of the forum. The main purpose is provide a creative writing outlet in a slightly different way than traditional fan fiction or roleplaying forums.

The player driven story

To help drive the ongoing story, players may assume the role of the storyteller to provide other players with a cohesive and directed storyline. It may contain any elements, characters, or events that they wish as long as they don’t conflict with the forum’s few rules. If a player says they have a great idea for a plot about a haunted taco bell, they don’t even need to ask permission to run it; they simply log into the storyteller account and start writing. In this way, characters may exist in a dynamic world that changes around them rather than stagnates because the only people approved to write plotlines don’t want to or can’t for whatever reason. On occasion, I will also be assuming that role to direct the story of the forum as a whole, although likely only for major changes. I leave everything else in the hands of the community to shape itself.

The player driven game

To help keep the game fresh and unpredictable, players are given the opportunity to essentially treat the forum as their character’s sandbox. They may pursue whatever goals they want to and they will be able to measure their progress or failure with tangible assets. If a player wants to claim a domain for their own, they will be rewarded with an appropriate value of the domain background trait if they are successful. If they want to let their sect use it or enforce draconian law within it, they may. The can even reward it to their supporters if they want to. Or, players may simply hang out and interact with the other characters and their players; a fly on the wall who collects or trades gossip, and so on. It's really up to the player's determination what their character is driven to do with their immortality.

The player driven community

To help ensure that players are satisfied with the forum and the game, they may at any time generate discussion to make changes to it. Aside from a non-negotiable policy about abuse and harassment, Gehenna by Night is completely democratic. Players simply talk to each other and decide with a vote what change they would like to make, if any. This is probably the most radical difference between Gehenna by Night and other forums, but I feel like it’s a necessary process to make certain that the forum is successful and it's community is happy with the game.

The forum also include it's own chat box and dice rolling code. Please take a look and feel free to ask any questions. :) -Peace
