Cabal: The Great And Secret War

"Cabal: The Great And Secret War" is a game of horror, but it is also a game of secrets. It is about the inhuman horrors which lurk in the places you’re afraid to look, and about the dark conspiracies woven by other humans around these supernatural forces. It is inspired by the video game "The Secret World" and by the literature of H.P Lovecraft.

You are an individual caught in the war between both the supernatural and the secret societies which fight it. However, you are not a normal human being for, in recent days, you have begun to have apocalyptic dreams; visions of cities in ruins, of the dead rising with jet-black eyes, and of strange creatures whose very image could drive some insane. As the dreams have become more frequent, you have also discovered that you possess a supernatural gift.

As though in answer to your growing confusion, a representative of one of the world's three main secret societies has approached you with a cryptic invitation and, as the game begins, you are visiting their headquarters for the first time where you are promised answers... if you can prove your loyalty. It is here that you will be given an assignment; your first investigation into the supernatural forces. You will encounter members of other secret societies during this investigation and may find that the task set by your own interferes with theirs.

As the story progresses, you will perhaps earn your society’s trust and learn the truth of the world: who you are, why you possess such a gift, and the very nature of the supernatural threat.

Welcome to the great and secret war.
