I am interested in running a Pathfinder game over Skype, we would meet once a week for some simple RP fun, live voice conference call for a party of between 1 and five players. We are not looking at very deep or involved plots here, at least not to start with. This is some basic pathfinder-y goodness, much like a tabletop game for those of use who are cursed with a lack of local games in which to play.

The Setting is going to be home brewed, not pathfinder proper, and I am open to discussing with my players who they want their characters to be and where they want them to start out.

Adventures will be GM created and of appropriate challenge to the party.

We are looking at starting at 3rd to 7th level, with most weight being given to the first players to join the group in deciding where in that range we will fall.

Please note that ALL Pazio Official races and classes are permitted, yes, even Gunslinger: and also yes, even 'monstrous' races. (Level Adjustment 3 or less, and do remember to include racial HD in calculating if the race fits under ECL7. We also will be using the lvl adj 'buy down' rules, so even "high" LA races will not get shnookerd in the final balance.)

Related to the race rules above the composition of the Party will reflect the composition of society, so if we turned out to, for example, have a Catfolk, Halfling, Orc, and Human those would then become the 'common' races of the game world, and their backgrounds be adjusted to reflect this. (In this example Orcs for instance would no longer be savages eking out and existence as raiders and brigands: a role that would most likely pass to hobgoblins. They would probably still be a martially inclined culture, but more likely would serve in many towns as the officers of the law and highway patrols. Half-Orcs would also be consequentially more common, since human's and orcs would have more frequent contact and thus more often form intimate relationships.)

Answers to other common Character Creation questions that may impact your choice to play:

HP = Max per level, and permanent increases to Con apply retroactively as well as proactively. (Permanent increases to Int apply the same way to skill points.)

Starting Gold = Standard: but I reserve the right to veto things like spending all your money down to the last CP on a super magic sword, or whatever. You need to buy some basic gear before you go drooling over the magic items.

Experience Track = Fast: even for Skype we will probably have less time than a F2F game, so we need to move more quickly to make up for that.

Abilities = 25 standard point buy.

Traits = 2, with appropriate justifications to me as GM. A further 2 are reserved for being turned in later in the game when you submit a good piece of character back story that you reveal to the party at a suitably dramatic moment.
(As GM I reserve the right to chose one of these extra traits for you under suitable circumstances: such as a cleric meeting their god and gaining the "Birthmark" trait when their God touches their hand.)

Multiclassing = Only with GM permission and generally only to take a prestige class. The 'Cherrypick' build deserves special mention: and is permitted, though you will find that it is not as effective in pathfinder as it was in 3.5.

In a related note: Min/Maxing = BAD, This is not a game for the munchkin's among us, this is a casual game for having fun. If you are playing to WIN, try chess, or better yet a FPS.


Moving on from char gen, which I am sure I will get many more questions about no matter what I do; This game is rated at "Semi-Adult" due to the probability of graphic violence and moderate chance of other 'adult' content. That said this is not a BoEF game, in the event of any actual lascivious actions fade-to-black will be liberally employed.

I am available to game after 9:30 EST Sunday nights to Thursday nights except Wendsdays. You and the other players will work out a good time to game with me before the first session.
