Bratu, crushed shoulder still aching, moves along with the crowd.

Jendrich uses one of the walls as support, trying not to stare at the dizzying paint.

Heading below, Tommy cannot see the zigzag paint  without some light.  The air is not great and there is a smell of something long dead, and a slapping and creaking sound, like bare feet on a treadmill.

Tommies night vision is good  but not that good. He gets out his beeswax candle and lights it, before continuing on...slowly.

Brunhilda lights her helm lantern when she sees how dark it is, before following him.

Virgilio's staff still has the Continual Light (at candle strength) from the trip down the long stairway.

"I can make more lights, and brighter ones, if they're wanted."

with light you can see the dizzying zigzag patterns on the walls.

Grohm wrinkled his nose and coughed a couple of times.
