Heading below, Tommy cannot see the zigzag paint  without some light.  The air is not great and there is a smell of something long dead, and a slapping and creaking sound, like bare feet on a treadmill.

Virgilio's staff still has the Continual Light (at candle strength) from the trip down the long stairway.

the air is heavy here with the smell of death and is hard to breathe - make a HT roll, with any boni vs metabolic hazards
