After the Battle
OOC: No, as I noted earlier, I have what I hope is a healthy level of paranoia concerning the Mage Guild, which leads me to be concerned that a horse, no matter how well scrubbed, might be distinct enough to be a target for Seeker all on its own. A bag or crossbow wouldn't be (and none the less I've replaced those items with newly purchased ones), never mind coins, but things like a mage's embellished Staff, a book (potentially with a bookplate, Mystic Mark, or marginal notes), and the like might.
"What's your target for Seeker?" "Master Jerauld's gelding, with the blaze on his forehead and black left front hoof." I'd just as soon not be riding that horse...
For that matter, I'd recommend against any of us keeping any of the Guild horses. Thirty francs, or even several times that, is a small price to avoid potentially being traced through a "free" horse. Finding the horse is in Northport doesn't worry me much, because where else would someone take a horse "found" on the road leading here? Following it up and finding one of us riding it? I don't want to be there, especially before I can learn some more combat-worthy spells.
