I.C. WHFRP 2e Mordheim

Hey 4th Edition is on its way... In the meantime hark back to the days of 2000 when we all thought Sigmar was heralded in the night skies above the Empire of the Old World..

Checking temperature for WHFRP game campaign set in the Damned City. City crawl, creating and maintaining war band, sewing back lost body parts, battling skaven, dealing with the undead... lots of undead... warpstones, treasures and of course Chaos ensues.

Emphasis on survival skills, gritty realistic battles. High Fantasy Low Gothic adventures. Going to keep the rules tight and light, keeping the story moving. (This is not PvP or tabletop basic WHFRP 2e rules, although hiring a retinue of NPC mercs is all part of the fun!)

Any advice warmly welcomed, any interest and I will make sure to rmail you when game begins. Cheers.

Yeah, I'm interested in this.  I always loved Mordheim (and Necromunda) for the hybrid TTRPG/Wargame mode of play.  I had some pretty awesome witch hunters at one point.

Had a think about this concept, and as you asked for advice:...

Maybe have characters start with some experience already, rookies might find it hard in Mordhiem.

I’d suggest care with the quantity of NPC mercs/flunkies. Too many could result in bloat on dice rolling. A few with defined personality possibly more productive to the story (characterisation of hirelings could be a player responsibility subject to gm approval?)

Recurring enemies and defined territories in and near the city. (Befriending the nearest farming villages could be useful allies to restock/recover)
