I have been part of a little group that were planning to play the new edition of Mutant Chronicles but the effort seems to have gone belly up. As I'm still very keen to try this game out I'm considering running a game as GM and naturally I'm wondering if there are any potential players out there? To keep scope down I propose starting with the intro adventure called Straffar Gatan 39. If that succeeds there is the possibility to carry on playing a whole campaign, whether it be the Dark Symmetry campaign or something else, like the Venusian Apocalypse.

As the rule book is absolutely massive and I haven't run a game with it before there will be a period of learning, but I think it might be an opportunity to learn together and figure out how these rules will work in a play by post environment.

As someone vocal in the non-starting game, I would be up for that.

I've not looked at the intro adventure, in case I end up playing it.

Not a problem as such, you'll get by playing. There's nothing about character creation in the quick start though so you'll have to choose one of the pregenerated characters.

How different is 3e from 2e?  I have 2e and wonder if the Character Creation precess can be all that different between Editions.

The principles are the same but it's not possible to just use the older editions straight off since the new edition uses the 2d20 system and all the skills, backgrounds, tables etc. are reworked. There's also a point buy system that wasn't in the older editions that I thought we could use for this game.

With that said Modiphius has a free character creation app I suppose you can try to use: http://mc3.modiphiusapps.hostinguk.org/ but it's a little clunky and you'll have little info for skills, talents etc and poor overview of the whole process.

Or you can start with one of the pregenerated characters and customize it in regards to detailed background, name, personality and so on.
