Classic Cthulhu

I really love collaborative story-telling and character development, and I also love Call of Cthulhu the game, as well as H.P. Lovecraft's stories. So I'm considering running a Call of Cthulhu game of my own on here... I've got a few different ideas of where to take it. I looked at the Convict setting in Australia (1790-1810 era) which is pretty interesting, especially seeing as I am Australian and have a bit of knowledge of history... I also was considering something more exotic like the Mysteries of Morocco.

Anyway, just throwing this out there to see if there would be any takers...
Thanks for your attention, looking forward to hearing from you. May the games begin...

Classic Cthulhu

Call of Cthulhu got me into RPGs a few months ago. Unfortunately I've only been able to GM, the one game I've played the GM disappeared. Im also a big history fan and am quite fine with more "unusual" time periods. I'd be interested in almost anything you can come up with.

I haven't thought much about settings before the Civil War, but it certainly seems interesting. Let me know if you get started on this. Count me in.

Glad to hear from you both, and certainly when I get something formally started, I'll let you know. I'm going to hold up from setting it up though to give this ad a chance to possibly attract other attention first. I am thinking maybe of giving the Convict Australia setting a go... It's got loads of potential for both horror as well as just downright survival and interesting role-playing opportunities...

(Though, on second thoughts, the Morocco setting could be pretty interesting too... Still undecided obviously. But I am thinking of one of these two right now...)

How would you set a Morrocan adventure, among the local people or a party of Europeans?

Australia could be fun, but I wouldn't want it to devolve into "Can you find water in the desert?" type survival.

In reply to Gaffer (msg # 6):

Most likely the Moroccan would be a party of Europeans, so the setting would be exotic for them... The Australian thing is based on convicts/guards/free-settlers in the colony itself. So primarily it would be within the coastal settled regions or just outside of this where there are aboriginals, but not so much outback, as the Blue Mountains weren't crossed until 1815 in Macquarie's time, whereas our scenarios would be running more in 1790 through 1810...
