IC: Rogue Trader
As it says on the tin, is anyone interested in a rousing game of Rogue Trader (FFG rules)?
A bit about my thoughts and expectations: I find Rogue Trader inhabits a nice little niche in the 40k setting. While it can be as grim as any other game in the setting, it also has opportunities for a little lightness and heroism, humor, and adventure. Mind you, if enough players want to strap on jackboots and grind new worlds down into cogs for the Imperium's machine, I'm prepared to roll with it. But my preference is for some adventure, a little humor (black comedy and/or light loving satire, mainly), and a tone more dim than dark.
Since Rogue Traders are the masters of all they survey (until someone with a bigger armada comes along), I tend to run a more sandbox-y ship, dropping plot hooks for players to grasp, or letting them hare off in new directions and wondering how it will all turn out. So player feedback and engagement is very important.
I'm debating between a stock-standard starting game, or throwing some XP at the players, letting them create the movers and shakers of the Expanse, then giggling ominously while rubbing my hands together, so keep that in mind as well.
With all that said, interest?
