IC- Mage the Awakening/Changeling the Lost crossover game

I had an idea a while back that I worked on for a bit but never put into action.  IT would be a game that focuses both on a group of changelings and a group of mages.  The two groups would be separate at the beginning, but over time would be pulled into the larger plot through dreams, dream magic, and shared experiences.  The changelings would likely start a bit higher powered than normal to make it a bit more equal with mages.

Wanted to know what sort of interest there was in a game like this.  Would probably look for 4 or 5 of each type of character.  I am most experienced with original nWOD versions of these games, so that is what I would default run unless no one is interested in it.

I'm interested. Personally would choose Mage, but more than happy with Changeling too.

Would this be Mage: The Awakening 2nd edition? I really want to try this.

I am highly interested, but I only have the rules for Mage 2e. I have not played the new Changeling or Mage 1e. Let me know.

Definitely interested in Mage. Not sure which version of the rules I have, I'll have to check. I play a bit of oWoD in a LARP, but I got some NWOD Mage books from a friend over the holidays, and have been eager to try them out.

Count me curious as well. Mage more than Changeling, but would be willing to play either. Would like a little bit of experience to play with as well. Not a deal breaker.

I'd be keen on the Changeling front. Recently picked it up, but haven't delved too deeply into it as I've also learned that it's revised/2e rule set is due out this year (I think/hope). It looks like REALLY cool stuff though.

If i ran this game, it would be 1st edition.  Meaning the original NWOD version, not Chronicles of Darkness, and likely not God machine version either.  I don't want to mix Chronicles of Darkness Mage with NWOD changeling, since the COD version of Changeling is not out yet.  I also don't plan on waiting for a new rule set to release to run the game.

I need to think a bit more on if I want to do the work for it.  My dilemma is that my setting for the changeling side is very fleshed out, but it seems to be the less popular of the two.  I'd need to put in the work for the mage side, and I am trying to decide if that is something I want to do.  Player fall off has burned me out a lot recently on running games, so I am second guessing putting the work in.

I would actually love a Changeling game honestly. I'm running a game myself, but I've never been ever actually to play in a changeling game that lasted more than 100 or so in game post. So if you decided to just do Changeling, I can guarantee you'd at least have one interested player. XD

My preference is Mage mostly because I know it less. Changeling especially the NWoD version fascinates me. Most ST limit the books and to be honest that is a minor irritation. I have a hundred Changeling ideas, but only one or two solid Mages. So the mages have less blurring between them.

As I said before, I'm down for either one.  Changeling is slightly higher on my preference scale, but mages are high up there too.

So, a fair compromise might be just running a straight up Changeling game? :-p

IC- Mage the Awakening/Changeling the Lost crossover game

I will see how much work it takes to get the mage side ready.  I have the changeling side about 90% done already, so I could run it soon I guess.  I wanted the mages to be from out of town, which would mean putting in work to develop that second location, at least enough for the players to start there.

I'll post in this thread if I can get it done soon.

The game is set in New York, with the changelings living in a city upstate I made up called Ashton.  The mages would come from outside Ashton.  So either somewhere like Buffalo, or maybe even NYC.  Depends on how much work I want to do I guess, to get the feel right.

I meant cities that have grown together or are about to. There by meshing things. Just a thought. Might make things easier.

I have started the game up and have the initial threads.  I don't have a lot of detail for the mage side yet but I will be expanding that in the next few days.  The game is adult.  Please rtj if you're interested.
