Hey, everyone:

Is there any interest in a modern-day action/adventure game along the lines of the TV show, Scorpion? To be clear: I'm not talking about re-enacting the characters from the show, but rather creating our own team of specialists who deal with crises in both the real world and cyberspace.

That could be interesting. Do you have a game system in mind or are you planning a more free form style?

Never used it, but have been planning to look at it. A lot of people seem to like it.

Here comes the chicken-and-egg part: do I wait for more people to express an interest, before creating a game? Or do I create the game, then wait hopefully for people to join?

Me personally, I would wait a day or two to see if anyone else expresses intrest. Would be a lot of work getting things set up then not have enough RTJ's.

I'm interested. Not sure I have the time for regular posting, though.


If use FATE Core, you probably shouldn't have any trouble getting players. The show is fairly popular, and is a bit of a spin on the spy genre.


I'd say give it the weekend to see if you get any interest, and use that time to work on the details... what you want for an RTJ, chara gen rules, plots, etc.

Thanks, guys; that sounds like a good plan! Waiting until Monday won't be a problem.

In order to entice anyone else who might be sitting on the fence about this... I'm going to focus on the over-the-top, action/adventure side of the show, and not on the love triangles.

This looks like fun. It's a fun show. Would we be making characters together since FATE is the system?

Yes. I've even invested in the add-on BackStory Cards to help flesh out PC histories.

Since we now have three interested players, I'm going to create the game. Woot!

The game is now open, under the name Exciting Global Adventure.
