Right, couple of ideas to throw out to see which has greater interest

I have an idea for a Wu Shu, Confucian Celestial Throne Empire, think mythic China with the Royal Family descended from the Divine Sun Goddess.

Celestial Bureaucracy, Scholars, Magistrates, generals, Province Governors, Noble Families, celestial Astrology, I Ching, Feng Shui, Eastern Dragons, Chinese Knights, Trade routes, shipping trade, pirates, merchant monopolies, Kung-fu Monasteries, Fu Dog Guardians, Spirits, and 10,000 Gods Celestial Engineers, a Great Wall, and a host of Black hat sorcerers and mystics, all of which follow the Confucius system.

Add to that the barbarian Kingdoms all outside the Celestial Empire that are warring and threatening the peaceful order and stability of the Empires peoples.

All characters will have their origin in the Celestial Empire

A gritty street level game set in Hudson City. Highly limited powers. It is the world we know crossed with a alternate history that includes Watchmen like heroes. A hidden history of secret societies or brotherhoods have controlled assets of otherworldly power or did at one time and now only charlatans pull strings wit the promise of secret power.

No armor suits or transforming robot tech exists, adamantium and vibranium only exist in comic books or fiction. Crime is steadily lower and where it does exist, it is pernicious and brutal.

Police forces are in the middle of public outcry over militarization and now are refocused on public outreach and social awareness.

You want a hero? Look at the single mother whose car has broken down, again, still pays a lender 43% annum interest rate, takes two hours by mass transit to get to a job where someone younger and more ambitious just cut her hours because of 'unreliability', and still comes home to raise two kids, and take care of an apartment that is on the brink of being sold to a developer for urban improvement.

There is a slow tearing of social fabric and the hands that are ripping the pages from the social contract are methodical, calculating and have armies of flesh eating lawyers that sue, counter sue, litigate and bog down a system that delays justice beyond the mortal years of any wronged or injured party.

Just bow your head, keep to your self, let the authorities handle the evidence, the prosecution and the verdict.  You just shoulder the burden and do what is expected, consume, borrow and work.

Interest check has not yielded enough interest to trigger a game. Could be due to system, could be due to the type of campaign.

Let's try and generate interest from the reverse.

What campaign would you like to see run as a player with HERO 6th ed.?

I am open to almost anything, my only prohibition is 4 color champions, been there, done a million of those.

I'm kind of looking for a supers game, but I find I have a hard time connecting with them.  I do like HERO as a system, though I don't think I've had a good game of 6th edition yet.

I like emerging powers as a theme, either teen or "adults in an accident".  I like a high degree of player agency in determining what's going on in the game.  I like nuanced, rational opposition (as opposed to cackling madmen, for the most part, though the occasional loon for flavor is good, too).  I like characters that grow meaningfully and quickly.  I like other PCs that started "normal" for the most part and have a similar frame of reference in their lives (less aliens and ancient dragons and more altered humans, alien foundlings raised by humans, etc.).  I also like smaller groups of PCs (1-4).  I actually like play, no matter how crunchy the system, to be informed by rather than strictly driven by the mechanics.

I personally would like just about any game using 6th ediion from fantasy style up thru a scifi space game. I like you am pretty burnt out on the 4 color superhero style but a good street level vigilaanty or similar where it is hard to tell the vigilanties from the bad guys may be fun. But chalk me up as interested.

Hey guys, thanks for replying and for the interest.

With a reply by rmail we now have three. So the preference for 1-4 players is most likely.

Now we have to hammer out genre. Looks like an emerging powers low level gritty Dark Champions game is the majority. I am looking to bring you all in so there will be a bit o 'round robin' while I collect opinion.

Feel free to contact me by rmail.
