Solar Storm: End of Technology interest check

I am planning to do a rp based on a series of awhile ago (Cannot remember he name). Basically a huge solar storm fried all technology on earth to the point of nothing working. This will take place three years after the events but we can make some gaming for the day it happened if you would like that. Let me know what you think, would you take part of this? it will be freeform.

I think so. However I am just grabbing the general idea of it. The plot and difficulties will be my creation.

In reply to Karixia (msg # 1):

A solar storm wouldn't fry all technology, just the disquietingly large percentage of tech which is vulnerable to power surges. Most consumer-grade tech which depends on electronics would die. 'Most' because there's still some tech which doesn't depend on electronics; purely mechanical items like bicycles should be fine, and depending on how bad of a solar storm you're talking about, it's possible that devices which were plugged into surge suppressors might actually survive. Most computers are likely to die, and the Internet will probably be crippled (if not just plain dead). Military tech is a different matter; there's a lot of military tech which is 'hardened' against EMPs, and a solar storm pretty much is a honkin' big EMP.

In Revolution the stoppage of electronics was due to a man-made nano storm.  But basically the same idea.  Color me interested.

Yeah I agree with all of that. The way I am thinking is sort of it that way. I will give a list of the things that will continue working. Something simple like Bicycles like ou said would survive yeah

If it was a book series, then you might be thinking about S.M. Stirling's Emberverse (aka Change World) series where some mystical change altered all physical laws when it caused all the electricity, gunpowder, explosives, internal combustion engines, steam power and most forms of high-energy-density technology on Earth to permanently no longer work.  It started with Dies the Fire.

Or it could easily be any of a number of other book series, a solar flare being one of the popular causes for the prepper crowd.

I think I have an idea on how I am going to do this. Now off to work.
