NWOD vs Chronicles of Darkness for Changeling and Mage & IC

I am beginning plans to start a combined changeling the lost and Mage the awakening game set in a fictional city somewhat upstate New York.  The game will center on that city, but possibly also on characters from outside the city and from NYC.

I do not own any of the new Chronicles of Darkness books.  Would people still be interested in the classic versions of these games?  I am considering the God-Machine rules, haven't decided if I will use them yet.

I'm also curious to see how many people would be interested in a classic version of these two games intermingled, with a focus on dreams and the hedge.

PS: I don't need reminders of the balance problems between changelings and mages, I am aware of them, and am working on a way to make an enjoyable game without that problem interfering.

If you're considering the God-Machine rules (which are ~3/5ths of the Chronicles of Darkness rules, missing the crafting/organization/planning rules, investigation and clue-finding, the new chase architecture, and some last-minute polish) almost all of Changeling 2E is in open playtest here: http://forum.theonyxpath.com/f...en-development-blogs! Chronicles in Darkness in general tend to be smoother, stronger, and more I guess "flavor-packed" in terms of theme and mood, so that might help down the balance gap a little.

Onyx Path is still taking feedback and it'd be a help if you were willing to consider it, maybe formalize a request for players to send in their experiences from time to time.

If you're dead-set against it I'd still be interested. Changeling and Mage are pretty popular individually.

How Changelings benefit from dreams and the Hedge is pretty apparent. How would you pull mages into those kinds of stories? Mages and changelings both have rather different systems (and implications; the Oneiros is inside a soul, whereas the dreamscapes Changelings enter aren't terribly well-defined) for dream interaction: who takes primacy? Can Changelings go skeinwalking to get to the Temenos?

many of the books talk about the intersection of dream magic for mages and dream walking for changelings.  Both can enter mortals' dreams as well as dream realms, and interact with dream beings.  It wouldn't be difficult for the two to meet and interact in the dream world, and still have their own separate aspects that the others can't enter.  Without help, at least.

But it doesn't look like there's a lot of interest in it.  Maybe I'll hold off on it for a while, or find the chronicles of darkness books down the road and see if they are to my taste.  The campaign I had an idea for is a lot of work on my part, and I didn't want to do it if I didn't have much interest.

To be fair, I'm not sure how many people even know this section of the site exists. Up to you what you want to do, but you could try setting up the barest minimum to start an advertisement and then if people start sending in RTJs in numbers you can use the app-sorting time to do whatever prelim you need.

In reply to Sleeping Darkness (msg # 5):

Trust me the interest should be there. Mage of any variety is always popular.
