In D&D Lore, on the 471st level of the Abyss, a war has raged for aeons. Pale Night, the Mother of Demons, long ago beguiled a lord of the eladrin people into a damning pact, and through this link trapped an entire generation of pure-souled eladrin children on her personal abyssal layer. Thinking to hunt them for sport, she began the slaughter, but very quickly met resistance. The innocence of the children attracted the holiest of celestial beings, all manner of truly Good creatures summoned to their aid in the Abyss. Now, a war rages through the layer as the celestials battle the fiends in defense of the eladrin. The plane has warped itself around the battle, no longer a shadowed place of nightmare, but a confused and alien world of rolling hills and clouds like screaming faces.

I want to know if anyone would be interested in playing this campaign out.

Not necessarily. You could be a champion of good, drawn to the battle by a deity or by personal calling. You could be an Eladrin if you wanted, the original generation now grown into a settlement and sending it's forces to fight. You could be a child of the gods themselves, given form to fight, an Aasimar from Pathfinder if you work to rebalance the race for 5e and I approve it.

We might even be able to get a party of evil PCs to oppose the good guys, if there was enough interest.

Whoops, thank you. I haven't had the largest amount of time with the DMG, I've mostly been working out of the PHB.

That sounds quite interesting.  What level campaign would this be?

I don't like starting at level 1 because it seems like it takes too long to wind up. I would say probably level 3 or 6.

A higher level makes sense.  I presume a party of level ones would just get eaten by the nearest demon.
