So I had thought that I might want to ressurect an older Master Campaign.

The basic premise is that you are new to the city known as Cormanthyr. In a few years the whole Realms will know it by a different name Myth Drannor. The game starts in The years following the Opening and concludes with the Fall of Captain Fflar.

what system would you use?

Preference is 2nd. I could use 3rd as 90% of the material got at least a decent port from 2nd to 3rd. By 3rd I actually mean 3.5.

I'm a big fan of 2e and I have the Arcane Age rules for Nethril. Are they anything alike?

Nethril and the Cormanthyr rules are exactly alike. Of course getting a Netherese Arcanist into Myth Drannor is nearly impossible.

Also buried on The wizards Site you can get the entire Arcane Age setting for free.
