Let me ask why 3.5 instead of 2nd?

I would love it in 3.5 as well.  For the simple reason is that is the one I am most familiar with and the flexibility of making unique characters.

I would really prefer 3.5 too.

I'm not stating 3.5; but at a guess a lot of people know it better.

It's arguably better balanced too; but I'm not really fussed about that. We never worried about the fact that a high-level wizard could toss a high-level fighter to hell and back when I was playing.

I definitely would be in for a 3.5 game like this.

Hmmm.... Should I assume then that the 3.5 players are familiar with Arcane Age time period? I think 3.5 wins, but I might run a 2nd edition version as well. And before anyone asks no you can't be in both.

This potential 3.5 player is quite familiar though, and have been watching to see where the cards land on which version. My 2e is beyond rusty, so...

There will be house rules for the 3.5 version as both the Elfblades and High Magic got screwed in 3.5. Doubt we will make it to the point where high magic will be used by PCs, but still.

I'm already in your Dragonborn game but I might submit an RTJ for the 3.5 version of this game, if you'll have me.

It would be majorly different from the Dragon born game. For starters this was to be my final GM stint 10 years ago, but as you know I kept on. I honestly can't complain other than I never got to Star's Falling.

I'd be up for a 2e version. Reasonably familiar with 3.5 at this point, but find I much prefer 2e.

I'd definitely need to find a good resource for info on the time period available online; initial Google search mostly led me to the novels, which weren't much good for explaining any relevant differences from any other FR period, game-wise.

Can you point us to the Arcane Age information in the wizards site?

Grand History of The Realms and Lost Empires of Faerun are two decent sources, though both are published 3.5 books and not "free" without breaking laws. Your best bet free-wise would be to surf the wiki's for various key words and extrapolate from there...

Yeah, from memory around the time of 4th edition coming out they actually started removing alot of those older materials that had been free on their site at the time. I certainly can't find the stackload of old books they had available anymore.

It's still there. The old archive map still exists which means they just made it stupid hard to find. They haven't actually purged the drives which is what they would need to do. I got to it last year I just can't remember how.

I voice interest to join this game if it would be 3.5 edition as well (most familiar and most flexible for me and my concepts).

potentially interested if a 2e game, as far as it goes.

I am running both 2nd Ed and 3.5 Ed. Putting them together over the next couple of days. I will post here and in the players wanted threads. If I have enough players interested I will run as many as two or possibly three parties per rule set. As it may be the case this stands to be a large undertaking so bear with me folks. I will try to post at least twice a day in each game but don't hold me to it.
