IC: D&D 5e Zendikar

The supplement Wizards put out recently for running a D&D 5e campaign in the Magic: The Gathering plane of Zendikar really inspired me. I was wondering if there'd be any interest here if I were to run a game?

I'm thinking we'd start out about a generation after the official lore leaves off, as life starts to return to some form of normalcy for most people. Cities would be getting re-built, adventuring parties would be returning to the many ruins on the plane, and while the Eldrazi threat is now largely eliminated, there would also still be plenty of lesser monstrous swarms to contend with. Players would NOT be Planeswalkers at start, but natives to Zendikar itself.

While I have read up on the lore, I'm not a hard core Magic: The Gathering player. Familiarity with the setting would not be required.

I don't know the setting, but I'd like the opportunity to play D&D 5e

As long as deep familiarity isn't required, I'd be up for it.

I could be interested in that too (though again, my knowledge of the MTG lore is somewhat limited). I used to play but my cards are currently stored in my in-laws garage.

What posting rate did you have in mind?

Cool, I'm glad there's interest. I'll let you all know when something is set up.

Familiarity with the setting is not required, the free, short, supplement from Wizards of the Coast provides a good introduction, and I'll do my best to also give you enough lore to go by. Zendikar is intended to feel like an adventure world, so as long as you come ready for treasure hunting and magical beast slaying, you should be good. Biggest departure is on available character races. Zendikar does not use many of the standard D&D races, but it does supplement that with some unique ones of its own.
