IC: Shadowrun

After being away from RPOL for a number of months (for various and sundry reasons too boring to get into here) I am back and considering running Shadowrun. I always told myself that I would wait for someone else to run it and play before I ran it but since that seems like it will happen sometime between never and not at all I decided that that was dumb. I've played the videogames - love Dragonfall - and read the lore for years.

Now before I go any further let me lay out a few things:

- This is something that I am not in a hurry to start. It may be three weeks to a month before I do if there is enough interest.

 - This will be a Mature game barring player desire.

 - This will be a game where the players get to choose the missions they go on in character. The players will be offered jobs in game and they will have the choice. There will be an overarcing plot but it's not a railroad.

Now for the question. I have never played a non-videogame version of Shadowrun so I will have to learn the system before starting the game. So the questions is what version of the game would people want to play? I have access to all of them from 1st edition's Neuromaner & Punk Rock lovechild to 5e's new AR modeled world to the Powered by the Apocalypse the Sixth World cover of Shadowrun.

So would you be interested in a Shadowrun game? And if so what edition would you prefer?

I would be interested, primarily in 4th or 5th. Its been a long time since I looked at 1st, but I love the fact that back then people did make characters who had a job other than running as well as being a runner.

Also with people picking their own runs are you thinking everyone is in a group, like the main cast in Dragonfall or are more like the other runners you can hire? Is this a group game (probably easier for you to run) or a good sized cast and see who picks up what jobs and have those who pick the same job run together for a while?

More like Dragonfall. Everyone will be part of a team but if a few wanted to go off and do a run on their own that's cool. The other players could even make other runners to get hired for that mission. If there is enough interest though I could make multiple teams or even a network of shadowrunners. I'm flexible and just want to see what people want to play.

I've been immersed in cyberpunk for a little while for a f2f game, so I'd definitely be interested. I'm new to the system, but with what I know, I'd prefer 5th.

Hey I'd be up for a game of shadowrun, 5e is fine, 3e is good too, didn't care much for 4e.

I am most certainly up for it, been dying to try it, though much like you only have experience with the video games. I have access to 5E.
