IC check: dungeon delving or Planescape
I am looking to start a new campaign and wanted to see for which there was more interest:
1) The Dungeon Crawl Company
Tag: You survived the monsters, but can you survive the competition?
This campaign would be primarily a dungeon crawler, with the premise that the PCs are a for-profit venture that recovers treasure (much like modern day shipwreck seekers). One thing that will be stressed a bit more than normal in this game is economics: repeated success at a site will bring competition if the word gets out, sudden influxes of wealth in remote communities can have severe impact on life, nearby authorities will try to figure out a way to get a piece of the action. Experience will be rewarded according to how lucrative a haul is. No player vs player action is intended (or desired), but the moral fiber of the characters will be tested. How far will you go to bring home the treasure?
System: FantasyCraft or Savage Worlds
2) Sigil
Tag: Noir-style adventuring in the City of Doors
The characters are a group of capable hands attractive to a variety of power groups in the city. Can they play the odds to their benefit? The overall tone of the campaign will be a bit like the Gotham TV series, or some of the Dashiell Hammett novels: everybody has an agenda, and alliances are formed and broken at every opportunity. The offer of their service is something the group should consider a valuable bargaining chip as they maneuver the politics of the City.
System: FantasyCraft or FATE
