I ran a campaign using Birthright in 3.5 years ago that was probably to date my most successful attempt at a run. There was a decent Birthright fanbase represented on here back then and I was just curious if there still is.
The proposal I'm seeking interest and input on is as follows:
A total war scenario in the broken empire of Anuire. For those familiar with the setting, I want to accelerate the timeline considerably to a point where the Gorgon has amassed his armies on a full offensive against the significant powers near his realm. Namely, the elven realm Tuarhieval and their allies in Dhoesone. The elves are effectively cut off from the rest of the realm by the Gorgon's puppet states. Boeruine and Mhoried are rendered ineffectual by internal corruption and Alamie has signed off on Ghoere's claim to the throne. These two realms have now amassed their armies against the entire southern coast. The Prince of Avanil now rallies the southern states in defiance while asserting his own claim to the throne and the battle for Anuire has begun.
The game I envision is multi-layered with the level 1 characters starting off in Roesone, all blooded characters caught in a surprise raid against one of Roesone's northernmost townships. Once that scenario is finished we jump to Ghoere and a different set of characters, this time around level 3 working within the spymaster's network of Endier.
The scenario can then either hop back to the original group or go a number of different ways. The idea is to not stay strictly to one particular group or scenario. I'd present options as follows:
- Stay with the current scenario
- Jump to the elven warfront in Tuarhievel
- Political roleplay in the court of Avanil
- Intrigue and corruption within Boeruine
The players could vote and discuss it amongst themselves and then I'd present an introductory blurb and everyone would roll up appropriate characters.
We could revisit scenario progression as we decide but still stay within the construct of one massive storyline. Who would be interested in this?
