Interest Check - Fate of Inglemia - Birthright style game

I am considering a game.  But I am most curious what interest there is out there for it as a strategy style game, potentially many sub games.

Are you interested and if so, what elements of a strategy game would most appeal to you? Politics? Military? High Level characters? Exploration?

Are you considering D&D? If so, what edition? I like 3.5 and politics, military and high level characters are always things that people enjoy.

In reply to kark2 (msg # 2):

There is a version in Fate, MM2e and 3.5.  I have all three.  I had thought Fate would be more popular but can do 3.5.

I loved Birthright and I'd probably be in with 3.5 which I own, I don't own the other game systems you are considering and at this time don't have the funds to get more game systems (or really time to learn them).

Love Birthright. Didn't even know they had other versions than 3.5. I'd love to join, but game speed may be an issue for me. If it's too active, I can't keep up due to my real life. If you're only requiring posts a couple times a week, I could do it!

In reply to Redfoxmagi (msg # 5):

The game I am considering would update once a month in the core game.

It will be SIMILAR to birthright but a different setting (fate of inglemia) which has rules in fate, 3.5 and mm2.  I have 3.5 and can do that just fine.

It looks like there is enough interest so will reconsider doing this.

90s computer game.  You play on multiple "tiers".  Strategic, Political, and Adventure mode.

All for it then.  If it updates slowly enough, I should be able to throw turns in and still be able to get my work done.

Not trying to throw a monkey wrench in, I think your going the right direction.

but, in response to kark2- The original Birthright setting rules were AD&D 2nd Edition I believe. I know for D&D it was 2e, And i think that was the original of any game adaptation.

the original Birthright was 2e table top. The politics are wild, sort of live action Diplomacy ! I played as the Arch Bishop of Waterdeep on time (we created a church faction) and could have my own troops in anyone's lands ! It was WILD !

And trust me ... No one expected the Inquisition !

I know Darknash, but if I remember correctly there was an article in a Dragon Magazine trying to bring Birthright to 3.5.

Kark2 is right. There was a period, when 3.5 was at its peak of popularity, when Dragon was systematically providing conversions of a sort for all the more popular 2e Campaign Settings that had not had actual book conversions, whether WotC or not. So they didn't do anything for Dragonlance or Ravenloft, but they did do Birthright and Dark Sun.

In reply to willvr (msg # 14):

The game I will be running won't actually be birthright either in setting or rules but it will have a high level  npc ruling.   Multiple if you want to do the sub games

I know about the 3.5 Rules, I have a copy. It was posted that it was originally 3.5. Thats the only thing I was commenting on.

Other than that good system for a concept, have fun.

Or I thought they did, it was late. (for me) Reading back I just see the the coment that it came from a 90's computer game. Sorry T.

link to another game

This is still under construction but will use Fate 3.0 rules for organization and Amber Diceless for player actions though in a setting obviously inspired by 3.5 D&D.
