Wheel of Time D20 campaign

In response to a GM wanted add, I am considering starting a Wheel of Time game here.  Before cluttering up the server with a game that won't have enough interest, I thought I'd post here to see if and how many people would be interested.  I am a Wheel of Time fan and have been cover to cover to cover through the entire series multiple times, as well as being heavily involved in the Wheel of Time D20 communities both at Wizards of the Coast, and at the now deceased Call of the Horn.  I have GMed WoT, D20 Modern, Star Wars WEG, and MSH.  Most of my games have been geared at first time players (both RPGs in general as well as for specific systems),mixed with veterans.  Please post here if you're ready and willing to commit to playing, with a posting minimum of three times a week, and preferably up to twice a day (during major action phases).  If I can get at least 2 people in addition to the one who requested the GM, I will set up a game.

I'm interested in hearing more about what you had in mind plot-wise and in terms of canonical influence.

I don't yet have any plans for the game, as yet.  I will likely run the game parallel to cannon, with possible minor contact with characters from the books.  I'm a huge fan of the series, and when I have run WoT campaigns in the past, was careful to keep them as setting friendly as possible.  If I get enough takers, I'll build a campaign, and set up a game.

I might be interested; with the caveat I don't have the rules. I -might- be able to borrow them from a friend; but I don't know when I'll next see them.

If you use the WotC Rules, I'd be interested.

Wheel of Time D20 campaign

The player who posted the request was for WotC's D20 rules, with the Under the Dragon's Banner and Age of Illusions netbooks.   As for the other books, I've seen them listed on Amazon for kindle and I think in print, though it is no longer supported by WotC.

I'll need a solid idea of what time-frame to run this in.  The original requestor asked that the focus be on characters that not be able to channel, with the exception of possibly wilders.  It was also requested that it be geared for lvl 12 and higher.
I'm just starting to put together thoughts on an actual campaign now, so input here and now is the only time you'll have a significant influence on the design of the campaign.

Well, it definitely appears that you have interest. As for the timeline itself, it's really up to you and how comfortable you are in dealing with the actual events of the book.

Wheel of Time D20 campaign

I've run everything from pre-AoL to interwoven with the books.  I've even given the PCs fleeting glimpses of the main characters.  I'm comfortable with any era.  Since everyone who is interested seems to not have an opinion on the time-frame, I'm going to run it within the books.  I'll have to work it up.  Any suggestions for a name for it, so everyone knows what game to look for?

"Searching for the Dragon" is one possibility.

That name sounds super familiar. I was in a Wheel of Time game a year or two ago on here with the same name I believe. Not a bad one though to be sure.

Re: Wheel of Time D20 campaign

Not a bad name, but I'm not a fan of using names from other people's campaigns.  I think I'll use a variation on the other one.  "In Search of the Dragon" To me it almost sounds like the name of a chapter in the books.
