I'm thinking of DMing a 5E game and wanted to see if there are enough people interested before I create the game. This would be a perfect time for those new or curious about 5E to get started. I'm thinking of everyone coming in at 1st level--learn it from the start--with everyone familiar enough with the rules before moving on to 2nd level. And from there advancement could happen at whatever rate players are comfortable with.

For certain, I can commit to 2 updates per week, but I'll do more if I am able to do so.

Just picked up 5E and haven't gotten a chance to play around with it much yet but love the look of it so far. Would definitely be interested in a 'start from scratch' kinda game.

I'd be pretty interested, and I'm at least moderately experienced with some DM'ing and less as a player, but I'm pretty clear on the rules, or where to find 'em if'n you want a page referencer.

5E is popular as heck around here, don't be surprised to see a ton of RTJs if you get this going.

I wasn't sure about its popularity, that's why I came here first to see if there was any interest. Right now, I tabletop a 5E game with my wife and son and they like it. So, I thought I would see about a game on here.

I would love to play 5E. I have been DM'ing a game for a couple months and have all the books. I would love to be a player for once.

I'd be interested, especially starting at first level.  There are so many cool classes I've never gotten the chance to play, and the 5e system looks good.

That's enough positive replies for me to put up a game. I'll reply here again once its set up and give a link to it.

Those of you responding here, include in your RTJ that you were from here and I'll give you greater consideration over those that just randomly RTJ.

My only hang up is the Dragonborn race. I've never cared for them at all and they were just one of the many reasons 4E turned me off of D&D. Anything else in the PHB is fair game.

I've been waiting to see if anyone tries running the free Basic version. It has the advantage in that everyone can get a copy, but the disadvantage in how much it offers.

I admit I am wanting to joint a AD&D game but I never done them. Have the books, read them over, but really never had the chance to play a game of it. So Im trying to find a group that would be good for a beginner.

I'm going to have my game up and ready to take on players by this weekend. So, as long as you pop in there, you're not too late. I'm not familiar with the 5E "Basic" rules--I've never actually heard of them til now. I know about the Starter boxed set and the PHB/DMG but nothing else.

I plan on having a game that beginners can get a good feel for the game while experienced players can have fun playing in the new edition. I don't want to limit the game to PHB 'lite' or whatever is online for free. Doing so might help out those who don't have a PHB, but I don't want to limit the players that do have the books. The basic rules should cover the basics of the game, so those with only those rules could still have a valid character, while those with the PHB will have an equivalent character but made with far more options to choose from.
