Interest Check: Homebrew Fantasy Western

Hello once again, ladies and gentleman!

I request the attention, input, and advice of my many fellow RPoL comrades!

Inspired by such games as Tin Star, Call of Juarez, Wild Arms and Westerado: I had a thought of running a  game. So, give me your thoughts, good or ill. ^_^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Title: "Marshals of the Second Frontier"
System: Homebrew
Genre: Fantasy, Frontier/Western, & Action/Adventure
Concept: "Justice can be stalwart or flimsy out on the frontier of civilization."
Rating: Mature
Description
You are a Junior Marshal in the service of the Imperial Marshal Service. You shall be sent to impose Imperial Law on the frontier of an ever expanding empire hunting bandits, treasonous rebels, wild sorcerers, and the maddened forces of Voiders.
You will tread where others fear, venturing across vast deserts; near-impassible mountains; ancient ruins of lesser fallen empires; and -arguably the most dangerous- the frontier cities flying Imperial colors.
Fail in your appointed task, you shall be poor, unrecognized, wounded, and forever forgotten by the one crown that matters in all the Known Civil Realm. Succeed: you shall know glory, fame, wealth, and the gratitude of an All-Mighty Emperor.
Re: Interest Check: Homebrew Fantasy Western
Seems like it could be interesting. How would you ensure player variety when they're all marshals? Is there some sort of class system in place, or would it be more-freeform? I'm curious.
Re: Interest Check: Homebrew Fantasy Western
Thanks for the interest CaesarCV!
The system is skill based: a player gets to choose 6 skills they are great at, 6 they are good at, 6 they are okay at, and 6 they are terrible at. The Imperial Marshal Service recruits from various walks of life; as different peoples can bring unique skill sets to the service. This becomes especially important for Junior Marshals just starting the job and working together; since a Junior Marshal's fellows can make up for any lack they may have.
Some examples...
Jake the former Imperial Armed Forces member is great at all of the "Armed Skills"... Jake is pretty much ready for any fight with any type of weapon. But he's terrible at Learned Skills. Jane is a graduate of the Arcana Guild and has spent most of her youth in the great libraries of the capital... Jane is great at Learned skills, so she can use magic; is knowledgeable in the law; and could shame most so-called doctors with her medical knowledge: however she cannot shoot to save her life and magic has its limits. Jake and Jane are a great pair for each other.
Players can vary themselves to have come from most any walk of life: carpenter, gold skimmer, cattle rancher, frontier wildsman, bartender, undertaker, priest, so-called "Man of the Stars", and so on. Just a matter of choosing the skills that best describe what the Player Character's former occupation/lifestyle before joining the Imperial Marshal Service. Though, it is possible that a criminal of some sort could've been pressed into service to in lieu of jail sentence;  a sort of work release program.
Re: Interest Check: Homebrew Fantasy Western
I am definitely interested in the premise, having really dug Tin Star(until the kind of rushed feeling ending).
And its always hard for me to turn down any system that might offer a chance of making a Gun Mage.
Both system and setting sound excellent - I'd love to be on board.
Re: Interest Check: Homebrew Fantasy Western
This does sound intriguing, particularly if the homebrew system is as straightforward as you describe.
